Tarta de Santiago is a traditional Spanish almond cake which originated in Galicia and that carries the name of the main city in the county but also the name of Spain’s patron saint Santiago (Saint James).
Dating back to the Middle Ages, authentic Tarta de Santiago has the cross of St James iced on the top.
Our ready to eat tarta de Santiago cake is made from ground almonds for a crumbly texture. Each cake weighs 700g and measures 27cm in diameter by 2cm height and cuts into 6 to 8 slices.
