TASTING NOTES

One of the winery’s flagship wines. It boasts a magnificent balance between fruit and oak brought about by the careful development of the wine on its lees balanced with its barrel-aging. A regular prize-winner amongst the very best of Spanish wines.

Exuberant and complex aromas reveal a tantalizing blend of varietal characteristics such as hazelnut and toasted bread; tropical fruits, including pineapple and grapefruit, and hints of toasted oak from the barrel-aging. On the palate it is mouth-filling and creamy and develops beautifully with a fresh acidity that finishes in an extraordinarily long finish, during which nuances of toastiness reappear.

FOOD PAIRING

Served at between 10-12 ºC, Enate barrel-fermented Chardonnay is ideal with oily fish, white meat, smoked foods and strong cheese.

How to cook with Enate Chardonnay Barrel Aged 2022

Our oven-ready suckling pig quarter is a convenience solution, consisting of a traditional quarter of Spanish cochinillo from Segovia, that you can cook in just 2 hours inside a thermoresistant plastic bag, preserving all the properties, flavour, freshness, juiciness and avoiding the hassle of preparing and knowing how to cook a suckling pig, plus there is no oven cleaning afterwards!

We first came across this wine golfing in Spain last month. Recommended by the restaurateur, we both thought it reminiscent of a Meursault. Returning to England, we separately immediately looked where we could buy it in the UK. It is a stunning wine for the money.

Our favourite Spanish Chardonnay, difficult and usually expensive to buy in the U.K. A really lovely wine. The current special offer price is little more than you would pay in Somontano, and arrived very well wrapped, as promised in a couple days by tracked carrier.
