We import our Somalo Sliced Serrano ham extra thinly, so that you can enjoy the true taste of Serrano.
Our favourite way to enjoy Jamon Serrano is simple; on a warm platter with some good crusty bread and a glass of Spanish wine. A bocadillo sandwich is another classic Spanish treat, simply cut a fresh baguette in half, drizzle with olive oil and add sliced Serrano ham, perhaps with some slices of Manchego cheese.
Once you get the taste for serrano ham, there are dozens of ways to enjoy it, wrapped around melon, diced and cooked with vegetables, sprinkled on fresh salads or added to paella or pasta, to name a few.
At Basco, we are proud to offer the freshest sliced jamon in the country, cured in Northern Spain, this Spanish ham comes from free-range pigs, the ham is salted and then cellar cured for a minimum of 10 months.
Each packet contains 100g of thinly sliced jamon serrano, so it is the ideal sliced ham to serve your guests as a tapa with Manchego cheese, olives or chorizo or stack the ham slices on a crusty roll and make a traditional Spanish bocadillo sandwich.

How to cook with Somalo Sliced Serrano Ham 100g
This is a quick and tasty dish of baked eggs cooked in a tomato sauce made with onions, garlic, smoked paprika and roasted peppers, topped with crispy serrano ham and spicy chorizo sausage. Flamenca eggs are a typical dish from Andalucia and work perfectly as brunch or mid-week dish.

Martinez Somalo
Martínez Somalo is a family business founded in 1901 by Don José Martínez Campo. Under the management of D. Lino Martínez Uruñuela, the corporation built modern facilities equipped with the latest technology and divided into two different production centers. The traditional one dedicated to the production of Chorizo, and the modern one focused in drying of Serrano Ham.
Currently, the firm is led by the 4th generation of the family, and qualified professionals from the meat sector. Both our plants are located in Baños de Río Tobía (La Rioja) –typical Spanish wine region. We are certified with the prestigious regulations BRC “British Retail Consortium” and IFS (International Food Standard).
